Wk51 // It’s a Wonderful Life
My favorite Christmas movie is It’s A Wonderful Life. I can expound on all the reasons but this is a insurance newsletter so let’s break it down in that context. George Bailey never had the life he wanted. He took over the family business at a young age to keep a greedy slum lord from ruining the town and soiling the legacy of George’s late father. His brother left for school and war and got married and never once looked to hold up his end of the bargain. He had to sacrifice his own money to save the business from a “run.” And now the business is about to go bankrupt because of his alcoholic uncle and he sees the only way of righting the ship as to die and have his family collect the life insurance money. I’m not going to get on my pulpit of insurance and say that it could have prevented this. In fact I am going to argue the opposite. George Bailey needed to realize it’s been a wonderful life and he makes the difference. Insurance and money can never fill his shoes. The social insurance he’s built through his work will save him but he has to stay to keep his story going. You all are the gift we are here to celebrate. Insurance simply protects elements of it so that we can get back to the main central tenet, your impact and the good you do may live on, from keeping your company going or as simple as keeping food on the table and your family housed. Insurance keeps your good work going.
So what a wonderful year it’s been and we have you to thank for that. We hope for a safe claim free season to you and yours. We are grateful to be part of your life. So when you’re prepping for the new year include us to give the gift of coverage.
