As Mother’s Day approaches, we’re reminded of the incredible impact mothers have on our lives. They’re the caregivers, the nurturers, and the pillars of strength who make our world brighter each day. At [Insurance Brokerage Name], we recognize and honor the vital role mothers play in our families and communities.

This Mother’s Day, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the mothers out there. Your unwavering love, dedication, and sacrifice are truly commendable. As you celebrate this special day, we want to ensure that you have the peace of mind knowing that your family and your assets are protected.

And unfortuneately we have something difficult to face. A gender insurance gap.

Women make up 47% of the workforce.

In 16% of families, the wives are the breadwinners. In over 30%, spouses earn the same.

In younger generations, it’s pretty evenly split between families where the wife is the breadwinner vs the husband vs equal.

Nonetheless, 83% of dual-income families say they would have to make significant life changes if they were to lose a source of income.

And yet women are half as likely to be insured than men.

And majority of those insured have it through their employer, ie only 2x income.

As mothers, your love and care are irreplaceable. Life insurance ensures that your family is financially secure in the event of the unexpected. It provides a safety net for your loved ones, offering them stability and support during difficult times. If the worst happens, no it won’t replace you but it will make sure your hope and dreams for your family can still come true.

And this doesn’t just apply for if you die early but also when you die.

There will be $40 trillion in wealth transfer over the next two decades.  Despite who made the wealth it’s most likely that the wife will outlive the husband. And with the high likelihood of the estate tax sunsetting in 2026, many families should look at life insurance on the wife and/or survivorship coverage to protect their assets from being eaten by the estate tax.

So for all of us, let’s celebrate our mothers, and for the mothers out there, your selflessness does not go unrecognized but don’t let it get in the way valuing yourself to put protection in place
